FAQs on the Reappearance of The Christ
Who is the Christ that you are referring to here?
We have to discuss first how the word "Christ" is understood in the Ageless wisdom teachings (AWT). Here is our own take on it:
- The Christ within, or the Soul, sometimes referred to loosely as the Higher Self (also the "Holy Guardian Angel", "Solar Angel", "Agnishvattas", "Superconscious self" in other traditions). This is present in all humans, regardless of religion, race, or culture but is called by different names. This is, however, separate from the evolving human soul (the unawakened Soul). This is the Divine principle within that mediates between God (the Divine spark) and the personality or lower self. Truly, no one comes to the Father except through the Christ. In mainstream Christianity, when a person surrenders to Jesus Christ and accepts Him as the Lord of his life and tries to live a life of love and service, this is the Christ that one is trying to align to. This is the Christ to whom we form a "personal relationship" with. Once an attunement is achieved, he directs and guides us in our own microcosm or daily life. "...for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you."
- Christ consciousness or "beatific vision" reached by many mystics or saints while still living, such as St. Francis of Assisi. This is also sometimes referred to in other traditions as "Buddhic consciousness", "Buddhahood", "samadhi", "cosmic consciousness" or "enlightenment". This is a state of consciousness where the evolving human soul has finally reached the stature of The Christ within. In the former, there is still duality as we are still struggling to align to the Christ within. But in this state, there is complete at-one-ment with His consciousness which is unconditional love (Buddhi).
- The historical Jesus the Christ. This is the Great Spirit of God that overshadowed the Master Jesus starting with His baptism in the Jordan river until the end of His ministry at resurrection. "After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased." (Matthew 3:16-17)
- The Christ, as the World Teacher and the Avatar of Love. "The Christ" here is a title of a Divine office of a World Teacher. The World Teacher is also the head of the Spiritual Hierarchy of our planet. He comes from age to age to humanity to reveal a form of ethics, teachings, and, or spiritual living that is relevant to our time that will accelerate the evolution of human consciousness. He is not exclusive to Christianity but other spiritual traditions and major world religions know Him by a different name, such as the Messiah, the Boddhisatva, Lord Krishna, Maitreya, etc. He also acts as a planetary mediator between humanity and the Centre where the Will of God is known (the "Father").
Within the context of the reappearance concept, The Christ, as the World Teacher and the Head of the Spiritual Hierarchy is the one who is about to return to humanity again. This is also the same Christ who came to humanity about 2,000 years ago as narrated in the Gospels.
